Where a shipbroker can go next

5 destinations recorded, ranked by how much of the target role a shipbroker already meets. The closer to the top of Table 1, the less there is to learn.

Shipbrokers act as intermediaries between buyers and sellers of ships, cargospace on ships and charter ships for the transfer of cargo. They inform clients on the shipping market mechanisms and movements, report on vessel and cargospace prices and sales, and negotiate not only the cost of the vessels, cargospace or cargo but also the logistical requirements for the transfer of the vessel or commodity cargo to the buyers.

Also known as shipping broker.

How these figures were compiled

Overlap is how much of the target role is already part of a shipbroker’s work. It is directional: the figure for the reverse move differs. Every entry above opens the full comparison for that move: what carries over, what is missing, and where to start. The full method.
